Heel blisters can be a major irritation in our daily life. The blister itself is actually a reaction of the body to the injury, or possible infection of a spot, by the accumulation of fluid under the skin, to protect and fill the area. They usually subside on their own, but until then, they can be painful during every step, while at the same time they require extra care to avoid creating an open wound.
How is a blister formed?
The main cause of a blister is usually the repeated friction and pressure received by a specific point of the foot. The possible causes of friction on the upper part of the heel could be many and can be found in every daily routine, with long walking or demanding exercise, repetitive movements, new shoes with thin or no socks, and sensitive skin combined with dehydration or poor foot hygiene, are always at the top of the list.
